Why Students at the College & University Level Choose Us

College-level coursework is a different challenge entirely. The pace is faster, the material is denser, and the margin for error is smaller — especially for students navigating pre-med prerequisites, STEM requirements, or a transfer timeline that leaves little room for a bad semester. Most tutoring services can walk you through high school material. Very few can sit across from a struggling Organic Chemistry or upper-division Neuroscience student and explain exactly where the logic breaks down — because they've never taken the course themselves.

We have. Every course we offer at the college and university level is one we completed with an A or above. That means when your professor moves on before you've understood the last concept, we don't just re-read the textbook to you. We know the material, we know the exam patterns, and we know the specific points where most students lose the thread.

For Community College Students

The community college path is one of the most cost-effective routes to a four-year degree — but it requires more strategic navigation than most students realize. Course sequencing, articulation agreements, IGETC certification, and transfer application timelines all have to align precisely for a student to land at their target school. Brice transferred to UCLA from the community college system himself, completing over 120 credits across three institutions with a 4.0 GPA. He knows the system from the inside, and he has helped students reach their top-choice transfer schools by building the academic record and application materials to get there.

Whether you need help passing the prerequisites that are blocking your path forward, building a transfer application that stands out, or simply understanding what your counselor means when they talk about articulation — we can help.

For University Students

At the university level, the stakes attached to a single course can affect your GPA, your standing in your major, your medical school application, or your ability to graduate on time. We work with students taking introductory weed-out courses, mid-level requirements, and upper-division coursework in Neuroscience, Philosophy, the Life Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, Psychology, and more.

Marianne additionally offers editing and advising support for students working on undergraduate theses, graduate school personal statements, research proposals, and internship applications — with direct experience editing theses in Philosophy, Neuroscience, and Kinesiology. If the document matters, she treats it like it does.

Our Standard

We only teach what we have earned an A in. That is not a tagline — it is a filter. If a course appears in our subject list, one or both of us has the transcript to back it up. For students who cannot afford to guess whether their tutor actually knows the material, that distinction matters.
